We just finished another training cycle on Thursday last week. What does that mean, well it means that we shipped off another company of soldiers to the war and we took the weekend off to recover. Now we are preparing for the next group that will be on base within the week. So, as is tradition more than anything else, we will do a post postmortem (training meeting) on this last cycle. What does that mean? Well, you take 15 A type personality drill sergeants and you stick them in a room for a whole day and you have them hash out every event that happened during the previous three week cycle. The end result should be that the next cycle is smoother and better for the trainees. However, what always happens is that early on, someone will point out something that didn't go well during the training or something that can be improved on and BAM, welcome to a 6 hour bitch session.
Last time we did this, we discussed how to better get water out to the training site for two hours because the guy bringing it out that day was twenty minutes late! I am headed out the door now to partake in this meeting...wish me luck.
I'm taking coffee...
